Sick if being sick

I've been sick for about a week now. My stomach has been in knots and yesterday I threw up for the first time since I was 20. After talking with some friends I can now name about four people who have the same symptoms so apparently it's going around.

Anyway, today is the first day I felt somewhat normal. Thank god.

Layoffs again

Today they called us into a room I let us know a good portion of out department has been laid off, including many people out in the field offices.

I was expecting this to happen after they laid off a lot of folks already last year in two of our factories.

These are the times we are living in right now. I just hate to see people lose their jobs in this economy.
