My Iphone...

I've been waiting on my 3G iphone since July 14th. The new iphone was introduced on July 11th and ever since then it has been sold out completely. I figured there would be lines the first day but I had no idea that there would still be lines 3 days later at the Apple store. After going to several AT&T and Apple stores I gave up and just paid AT&T for the phone so that I could have one reserved in my name. It has not been almost two weeks and no word from AT&T yet. Very frustrating...

UPDATE:

07/29/08: After two + weeks of waiting, my black 16 GB phone arrive at the AT&T store. After dealing with a guy who obviously did not know what he was doing, they finally got it activated and me out the door in about an HOUR.  After seeing phones on Ebay selling for $1500 I started to go ahead and post mine out there also... but I'm not greedy. 

08/10/08: I'm in the Apple Store down on Knox street in Dallas, just looking around and believe it or not, there is a line out the door for the iPhone. Good god.. I would not stand in a line.  I'm not sure why these people don't just pay for the phone at AT&T like I did and have it shipped. Maybe its the experience of saying I stood in line to get the iphone.

So I'm out a little late last night and I decide for grins to ride by the AT&T Store near me that is across the street from the Galleria on Alpha and Dallas Parkway. Low and behold there is line of fools at 11pm at night in front of the AT&T store waiting on their precious Iphone 3G. Also on a side note for some reason there were police and drug sniffing dogs there as well. I noticed that they were taking the dogs down the line as I passed by. Also at the next corner there was a policeman with his car sitting in the middle of the street with the lights on as he stood outside of the car watching people go by. I assume all of this extra business was unrelated to the Iphone!.

This morning around 10AM I decide to run to McDonald's and grab a cup of coffee. As you know McDonald's regular drip coffee taste 10 times better than Starbucks but that's another story. Anyway, again I decide to ride by the AT&T store and guess what, the line is even longer. People are still standing out waiting.

I'll wait until they figure out all the bugs and until all the hoopla dies down to run up and grab a phone. I only want a new phone so that I can get the larger (16GB) capacity phone.
